Botanical Printmaking with jen berger
Join artist and educator, Jen Berger of At the Root, for an afternoon of printmaking botanicals. Carve botanicals to print onto paper and fabric, and learn the basics of carving linoleum. Bring your own (4"x6") image or make one in the group. Leave with your own reusable linoleum block, prints, and the knowledge to make many more. We'll spend the afternoon on the gorgeous hillside of the Plan Do Club, walk through the gardens, and safely harvest a few plants before using them to make prints. Snacks are provided, please bring your own lunch.
GROUNDED: Vermont Gravel Ride Farm Tour & Barn Dinner
Experience the beauty of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom as you bike the quiet back roads, surrounded by New England's most stunning foliage. Our ride will pause at two or three area farms for refreshment and to learn about the critical function our local farmers play in sustainable food production.
At the end of the day, join your fellow riders, guides, and the farmers for a seasonal, multi-course dinner here at the Plan Do Club. The meal will feature food from all of the farms you visited, and will be prepared by local chef Suzanne Podhaizer, who is a farmer herself.
"Snapshot of the season": Herb Walk and Medicine Making
Come meet your plant neighbors! Join Sophie Cassel of Patchwork Plant Medicine for a luscious medicinal plant walk around the Plan Do Club fields and wild edges. We'll meet and identify commonly found herbs and their many healing properties. We'll blend some of these freshly-gathered plants with apple cider vinegar and honey to create medicinal and delicious herbal vinegars, called oxymels. This method of medicine making creates a "snapshot" of the seasonal landscape, and is an excellent way to begin deepening your medicine making practice. Participants will take home a custom jar of vinegar medicine.
